Group seeks tougher gun laws

A Des Moines woman whose daughter killed herself with a gun delivered a message to Iowa lawmakers today. Julie Fatino says it’s time to require trigger locks and toughen punishment for adults whose guns end up in the wrong hands.Fatino says the gun her 15-year-old daughter, Angela, used to kill herself belonged to an adult who has not been charged with a crime. Fatino says laws are stricter for children’s toys than for guns.Fatino and other members of “Iowans for the Prevention of Gun Violence” are at the statehouse, lobbying lawmakers today.
