A "Rich" career ends at Girl’s State Tournament

The end of a remarkable career closed out the girl’s state basketball tournament. Stephanie Rich scored 23 points and added 16 rebounds as Washington claimed a third straight class 3A title with a 52-36 victory over Davenport Assumption. Rich was named the captain of the all-tournament team for the fourth straight season, the first time that has ever happened and set a career tournament scoring record with 237 points.Rock Valley claimed the 2A title with 42-29 victory over St. Ansgar, the first title for the school and coach Preston Kooima.
