An eastern Iowa firefighter charged with driving while intoxicated on his way to a fire has been suspended from the department. 38-year old Lawrence Rain, a volunteer firefighter in Mount Vernon, was pulled over March 10th while on the way to a fire. Rain was charged after he failed a field sobriety test. He’s been suspended from the department until the matter is resolved in court.
