UNI baseball team off to a good start

April 6, 2001 By admin

The Northern Iowa baseball team looks to maintain momentum in the Missouri Valley Conference when the Panthers open a four-game series against Indiana State this afternoon in Waterloo. U-N-I is 8-4 in conference play after sweeping a four-game series from Bradley last weekend. U-N-I coach Rick Heller says last week’s sweep was a big boost. Heller says his starting pitchers have played a big role in the team’s success, led by juniors Nick Ungs and Victor Saldana.
