Morningside looks to grab baseball lead

Morningside looks to grab sole possession of the North central Conference baseball lead this weekend as the Mustangs visit St. Cloud State and Minnesota State-Mankato. All three teams are tied at the top of the league race with 6-2 marks. Coach Jim Scholten’s team enters the weekend on a roll, having won 18 of its last 20 games. Scholten says the pitching staff is talented and deep. Scholten says the players enjoy being part of title chase. He says his players have worked hard and have a chance to do some good things this week.
