Senator Harkin symphasizes with Bob Kerry

April 26, 2001 By admin

Former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerry has admitted leading a mission in the Vietnam War that took the lives up to 30 unarmed civilians, mostly women and children. Former colleague, Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, says he’s not surprised by the revelation, as things like this happen in war. Reports quote Kerry saying after it was over he was “so ashamed” that he “wanted to die.” Kerry says it was a mistake. Harkin, who was a Navy pilot during the Vietnam era, says this is the type of thing that comes out years after a war.Kerry has been mentioned as a possible Democratic candidate for president in 2004.
