The Iowa State baseball team opens a three-game, Big-12 series at Oklahoma tonight. With six games to go in the league race, the Cyclones are right in the hunt for spot in the Big-12 post season tournament and coach Lyle Smith says although he wishes the team were playing on home turf, he likes his team’s chances. Smith says a lot could change in just one weekend of action. Smith says it is a wild race at this point, and the last weekend matters the most. Last month, the school announced it will be dropping the baseball program and Smith says at this point the players are happy to have something to play for. Smith says they will finish the season up like they want to.
