Central will join Iowa Conference champion Wartburg in the N-C-A-A division three softball regionals this weekend. Central will host a regional in Pella and it marks the 16th consecutive year the Dutch will play in the post season. Coach George Wares says with only a few at-large berths available, they were relieved when the pairings came out.It marks the first time since 1993 that Central has hosted a regional. He says it’s a tough regional, but they have a slight edge by not having to travel. Wares is hoping that tournament experience will be an advantage to his team. Wartburg will host a regional in Waverly and the Knights are the top seed.
