Waverly car dealership destroyed

June 1, 2001 By admin

Fire destroyed an auto dealership this morning in the northeast Iowa town of Waverly. The fire at the Krueger Auto and Truck Villa on the west side of Waverly was reported at 4:30 a-m. Firefighters from three departments fought the fire for four hours before getting it under control. An employee says the fire started in the service department and spread to a parts storage room. There was fire, smoke and water damage throughout the building, but only one car in the showroom was damaged. No one was hurt, and the owner says he plans to rebuild the business. Fire officials say the fire was started by an electrical problem.
