Northern Iowa voters rejected a controversial proposal to raise taxes for schools Tuesday. Voters in the West Hancock School district voted down a nine million dollar bond issue for a new elementary school in Britt as well as renovations to other school buildings in Britt and Kanawha. It could be brought back before voters in six months.
