M.C. Newman sets high goals

Pitching depth has helped lead Mason City Newman to the top of the latest class 1A Radio Iowa/Baseball Coaches Association poll. The Knights are 22-2 on the season.Newman coach Tony Adams says his team has been able to win several close games using a deep pitching staff.Newman traditionally plays a schedule full of larger schools. Adams says that is a benefit to his team as the pitchers lower in the rotation for bigger schools may be as good as top pitchers for small schools.Adams says his team has lofty goals for the post season for a young team with only four seniors.
