Scott County Sheriff’s cars carry a charge

July 12, 2001 By admin

Up to four Scott County Sheriff’s Department squad cars are on patrol at any given hour — and now each one of them will be equipped with a defibrillator. The battery-operated devices can monitor a person’s heart and deliver a life-saving shock if they need one. Scott County Sheriff Dennis Conard says the latest device was a gift from the town of Riverdale. He says the city felt it would help since the sheriff’s office provides their law enforcement. Virtually anyone can be trained to use a defibrillator.
