Luzerne begins rebuilding only church

July 30, 2001 By admin

Residents of Luzerne are on their way to getting back their burned out church. The Benton County community held a groundbreaking for the new St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday. The original 133-year old church was destroyed by fire in January. It was the only church for the town’s 105 residents. The new church is being built at the site of the old church. Insurance money is paying the cost of the new church, which will be completed by January of next year.
