Iowa’s economy has yet to bounce back from its downturn, according to the monthly Midwest survey done by Creighton University.Economics professor Ernie Goss says the continued hot, humid weather could be having some impact on the economy, though he says the heat isn’t keeping Iowa consumers from buying. Goss says the downturn is like a lingering cold.Dr. Goss says Iowa’s economy has been in the survey’s “weak” category for several months, and the forecast doesn’t look very promising for any favorable news on the horizon.Goss predicts Iowa’s economy won’t see a significant upturn until early in 2002.
