Cyclones and Hawkeyes report strong student ticket sales for football

August 7, 2001 By admin

Officials at Iowa State and Iowa predict strong sales for student football tickets for the upcoming season. I-S-U ticket manager David Crum says about three thousand student season tickets remain and they have already sold out of the all-sport ticket package. Many schools have reported shrinking ticket sales to students in recent years but Crum says that has not been the case at Iowa State. He says a lot of it depends on the success on the field, and that’s been good in football and basketball for the Cyclones. Crum says sales will increase as students begin to arrive on campus. The University of Iowa offers eight thousand student season tickets and ticket manager David Sandstrum doubts they will sell them all. He says student sales are pretty much proportional to public sales.Iowa State has offered on-line ticket purchases the past couple of years and Sandstrum says Iowa now has a similar system in place at www.Hawkeyesports.com. Iowa opens the home season September 1st against Kent State. Iowa State opens at home September eighth against Northern Iowa.
