A new communications antenna is now blinking high atop the Delaware County Courthouse after a lightning strike zapped the original tower August 2nd. County engineer Mark Nahra says it took careful planning to rebuild the system, enabling county workers to talk over two-way radiosThe lightning strike also set off the building’s fire alarm system, knocked out computer and phone service, disabled an elevator and stalled all transactions in the county treasurer’s office for a few days.
