An eastern Iowa man is going to prison after the alcohol-related death of a teenager. A former Monticello man was convicted Wednesday in Cedar County of providing alcohol to a Cedar Rapids youth who later fell to his death after a night of drinking. 22-year-old Michael Schepers was charged with giving the alcohol to 18-year-old Zachary Kramer who died in November after falling off a second-story fire escape at a Tipton apartment complex. Schepers was also convicted of supplying alcohol to four other minors the same night. He’ll be sentenced September 28th.
