State OSHA, Union Pacific and Fayette County authorities are investigating the Thursday deaths of two workmen in northeast Iowa. The bodies of two railroad workers in Oelwein were found inside a tanker car yesterday afternoon, apparently overcome by chemical fumes. They’re identified as 46-year-old Daniel Steil and 49-year-old John Woodson, both of Oelwein. Woodson apparently climbed into the tanker and collapsed, then Steil went down to rescue him and was also overcome by toxic fumes. They worked for Transco Railcar Company which refurbishes railroad cars.
