Grinnell looks to improve on 5-5 season

August 29, 2001 By admin

The Grinnell College Pioneers were 5-5 last year and hope for improvement in the new season. Coach Greg Wallace is entering his 14th year coaching at Grinnell. He says the team will have to focus on speed and he’s been pushing them in two practices a day for more than a week.Grinnell has 35 players returning from last year’s squad, the most Wallace has had. Wallace says there’s a good battle for quarterback with a duel between Sean Siglar of Davenport and Jeff Peterson, a two-time All-American tight end. Wallace was asked about the size of his team, on both lines, and says they haven’t been big, but they have been quick.
