August 31, 2001 By admin

An eastern Iowa teenager faces prison time and stiff fines after a drunk driving wreck that killed another girl. 19-year-old Patricia Ann Schubert of Muscatine pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and serious injury by vehicle was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison. She was driving an S-U-V that rolled into a utility pole March 24th in Bettendorf. 11-year-old Jessica Ballheimer, of East Moline, Illinois, was killed and two others were hurt. Schubert had a blood/alcohol level of point-one-six, well above the point-one-oh limit. She’s also ordered to pay 150-thousand dollars restitution, and medical and funeral costs.
