More details are emerging about the Illinois lawman who died while trying to stop an Iowa motorist.A Rock Island Illinois County coroner’s jury heard yesterday that a head injury from a fall, not crushing injuries to his torso from being run over, caused the June 23rd death of an Illinois State Trooper, Master Sergeant Stanley Talbot. 20-year-old Jonathan Corey Posey of Davenport is accused of speeding away from a safety checkpoint in Rock Island with Talbot hanging on to his car. Talbot fell off a few blocks later and was run over by a pursuing police officer. The coroner’s jury returned a verdict of reckless homicide in the death and said Posey is to blame in the death. Posey is also charged with first-degree murder in the case.
