Governor institutes security measures around Capital

Governor Tom Vilsack is asking Iowans to remain calm and to pray for the victims of this morning’s terrorist attacks.Vilsack held a news conference at the statehouse at 10:30 this morning to discuss the state response to the terrorist attacks. He says it’s important to remain calm so people know the government is taking the proper approach.Vilsack was due to fly out to D-C this morning, but rushed to the statehouse to meet with emergency officials and reassure state workers. He says a message was sent out to state employees to ask them to remain calm and encourage them to report any suspicious activity. Two of the entrances to the state Capital have been closed and other entrances are being monitored by State Troopers.
