Red Cross teaches about baby safety

Red Cross chapters across Iowa are offering a variety of classes this month that focus on the care and safety of infants and children. As part of “Baby Safety Month,” organizers say the courses and community programs teach skills that can save lives.Trish Colby is a spokesperson for the Central Iowa Red Cross chapter, which is among those offering an Infant/Child C-P-R Course, and a seperate course that offers the Basics of Babysitting.The babysitting course is designed for ten and 11 year olds. She says they’ll learn all sorts of things, from appropriate games to some of the fundamentals of first aid and C-P-R.The courses are being offered at Red Cross agencies statewide.
