Lee Greenwood sings to Iowa Vets

September 18, 2001 By Dar Danielson

The country singer whose song has become a rallying point for Americans performed for Iowa veterans today.

Lee Greenwood sang his signature tune “God Bless the U.S.A.” to a flag-waving crowd at Veterans Auditorium in Des Moines. Greenwood was already scheduled to sing at a concert in Altoona, but changed his schedule to sing and speak to Iowa’s vets in light of the recent terrorist attacks.

Greenwood says the U.S. military will step up to meet the challenge and he expects all Americans to step up and support the military.
