Southeast Iowa prisoner dies

State corrections officials are releasing a few details now on this week’s inmate death in southeast Iowa.Fifty-two-year-old Dwight Deimund of Keokuk collapsed in his cell Monday at the state minimum-security prison in Mount Pleasant. Staff performed C-P-R and Deimund was taken to Henry County Hospital where he died. He was in the sixth year of serving a 25-year sentence for second-degree sexual abuse. The death may have been from natural causes, but the investigation is still underway.
