Recker says he’s 100 percent ready to play for the Hawkeyes

October 11, 2001 By admin

Luke Recker says he is healthy and ready for his senior season at Iowa. Recker missed with second half of last season with a fractured kneecap. He says he’s 100 percent after a frustrating year in which the healing process was delayed until mid-summer. Recker says the doctors say he’ll be back with no problems.
Recker says he hit the weights hard and has added a few pounds, but has slimed down now to his ideal playing weight of 214.
Recker says the Hawks have lofty expectations. He says most preseason magazines have them ranked 10th, and he thinks the team is talented enough, and has high expectations of having a great season.
The Hawkeyes are having their annual media day this afternoon.
