Des Moines murder includes a missing person case

October 17, 2001 By admin

Des Moines police say a murder case now also involves a missing woman. Police have issued a first-degree murder warrant for 30-year-old Michael Lee Denin of Des Moines in connection with the stabbing death of 39-year-old James Howdeshell. Lieutenant Kelly Willis says Denin may have a 37-year old Des Moines woman with him. Willis says the woman has been identified as Rainnie Ogg.
Willis says they’re worried because Howdeshell was stabbed several times, in what he calls a “brutal crime.”
Willis is asking for the public’s help in locating Denin, and says he should be considered dangerous.
Willis says Denin was reportedly spotted in Sioux City yesterday, and may be on the way to Montana. But, Willis says that doesn’t mean he won’t head back to Des Moines.
Denin is described as a white male, with several tattoos on his body, and very distinguishable scars on his right eye. Willis says they’re not releasing any other details on the case to protect their ongoing investigation.
