Bettendorf man in trouble over McDonalds scam

November 9, 2001 By admin

A Bettendorf man is in legal trouble in connection with that 20-million-dollar scam involving the McDonald’s Monopoly game. Forty-two-year-old Gary David Pincus is among 12 people indicted on conspiracy charges Thursday by the U-S Attorney’s office in Jacksonville, Florida. Twenty-one people were indicted earlier for stealing and distributing game pieces from the McDonald’s game. Eight of the 21 have already pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit mail fraud. Pincus and the others named yesterday were indicted on that same charge.
