November 13, 2001 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes look to re-claim Floyd of Rosedale and lock-up a winning season this weekend when they host Minnesota. Iowa is 5-4 and coach Kirk Ferentz says there is plenty on the line. He says they’re excited about getting their sixth win and moving to 4-4 in the Big Ten.Ferentz says the seniors deserve a victory in their final appearance in Kinnick Stadium. While the Hawkeye defense has played well, Ferentz says that unit will be tested by the Gophers. Also 5-4, the Iowa State Cyclones visit Kansas. Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says it is a big game for his team. He says when the outcome depends on a winning season, third place in the conference, and a bowl game, it’s big for the team.Zach Dyer and Mario Kinsey have split time at quarterback for the Jayhawks. McCarney expects both to play.Tom Hayes took over as interim coach after Terry Allen was fired earlier this month but McCarney says not much has changed in terms of the style of play.
