Des Moines psychologist Dr. Charlene Bell just finished her Red Cross training on Saturday and was surprised to be called to duty so soon. This will be the first disaster Dr. Bell has volunteered for through the relief agency, but she says she’s more than ready to be going and will be glad to feel useful.Bell says she has -no- apprehensions about flying aboard a jetliner to New York and she’s flown several times since September 11th. Bell is slated to depart this afternoon at one o’clock. Other volunteers who are going to New York are from: Clinton, Clear Lake, Davenport, Toledo, Steamboat Rock and Mondamin.
