Woman dies in Delaware County accident

November 19, 2001 By admin

Delaware County authorities have released the name of the woman killed in a car accident this weekend.Authorities say 66-year-old Mary Jane McDowell of Greeley was a passenger in car driven by Joann Welch of Greeley. The car went through a “T” intersection and into a ditch near Petersburg. McDowell was pronounced dead at the scene. Welch and another passenger were treated and released. Welch was charged with failure to maintain control, not wearing a seatbelt, and a stop sign violation. Dense fog in the area may’ve contributed to the accident.
