Iowa entrepreneurs who hope to start a new business in the new year now havea website for “one-stop shopping” for just about everything they’d need toknow. The U-S Small Business Administration has launched the website”www.businesslaw.gov” which contains a wealth of Iowa-specific information.Sam Jones is the Regional Administrator for the S-B-A and is based in KansasCity. During a recent Iowa visit, he talked about how the new website willhelp Iowans who want to start or expand a small business to save two thingspractically everyone needs — time and money. Jones says the goal is to helpsmall business owners find, understand and comply with the myriad of local,state and federal laws and regulations. Jones says some of the links on the”businesslaw.gov” website include: all of Iowa’s regulatory agencies andcabinet-level positions, the state legislature, the judicial system, eventhe libraries at Drake University and the University of Iowa. The newwebsite is part of what Jones says is a Bush Administration effort to make”e-government” more easily accessible to anyone 24-seven.
