An antiwar voice is heard in Iowa tonight. The public’s invited to the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, where student organizers plan a vigil. A group of students who formed the Mobilization for Peace and Justice will gather about 5-30 this afternoon at the Olmstead Center on Drake’s campus. Organizer Dede Manley says the students want to bring visibility to the suffering of people in Afghanistan, and show that some Americans oppose war and violence. They invite anyone interested to come, talk, and pray in opposition to the bombing of Afghanistan.
