Iowa moves into Big Ten Championship game again

March 9, 2002 By admin

The post-season continues for the Iowa Hawkeyes as senior Luke Recker hit a shot with one-point-four seconds left to lift the Hawkeyes to a 58-56 victory over top-seeded Wisconsin Friday in the Big Ten Conference Tournament. Recker says he didn’t expect to get off a shot at the end.The winning bucket was Recker’s 28th point of the game, 24 of those points came in the second half. Iowa, which is fighting to get into the NCAA tourney, moves on to the semifinals to play 4th seeded Indiana. The Hawks lost both games to the Hoosiers already this season. Recker says he’s not worried about playing them again in front of what’s expected to be a Hoosier dominated crowd in Indianapolis. The Hawkeyes are now 18-14.
