Davenport woman sues after strip club fires her

April 2, 2002 By admin

A Davenport strip club is apparently a suitable place to work, unless you have complications with your pregnancy. Janae Veselko of Morrison, Illinois, worked as a cashier at “Daisy Dooks,” an all-nude nightclub. She’s now suing because she says manager Lisa Hallowell violated her civil rights by firing her. Veselko says she left work a year ago to go to a hospital after suffering some complications of pregnancy. Two days later, when she phoned Hollowell to get her work schedule, Veselko says she was fired because of her medical condition. Veselko wants an unspecified amount to cover lost wages and benefits plus compensation for alleged mental anguish caused by the firing.
