April 9, 2002 By admin

It has been a smooth transition for Northwestern College softball coach Melanie Mason. The former Northwestern player is in her first season as head coach as the Raiders enter tomorrow’s matchup with Dordt College 20-7 overall and 6-0 in the Great Plains Conference.Mason says coming back and knowing the people she’d be working with help make the transition easy. She says they are not surprised by their quick start. Mason says the strength of the team has been run production, and she credits her four seniors with leading the team.Mason says they have a good rivalry with Dordt College since they’re so close together and play each other in so many different sports.
