Iowa and Iowa State meet on the softball diamond

An in-state softball battle this afternoon finds Iowa State hosting Iowa in a single game. Both teams are in the midst of conference races but Cyclone coach Ruth Crowe says this is not just another non-league game. She says it has a flavor all of its own because the two teams always play with a lot of intensity against each other. Crowe says this game is enjoyable for the players as a healthy, heated rivalry. She says Iowa is on a roll in the Big Ten, and it should be a great matchup.
