Banks looks to Arizona for pro career

April 22, 2002 By admin

Iowa State tight end Mike Banks is looking forward to his attempt to make the roster of the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona selected him in the 7th round of this weekend’s N-F-L draft. Banks says he heard from the Cardinals about an hour before the draft.Banks was hoping to be taken earlier but was glad to have his name called. He says he had a good feeling in several rounds that he would be picked, but the teams that called him took another player.Banks says he spent much of the evaluation time since the end of last season with an injury and was concerned about how that would affect his prospects. He broke his collarbone in late January and refractured it at the draft combine.
