With two weeks remaining: Coe, Simpson, Central and Wartburg are all in the race for the Iowa Conference softball title. Simpson controls its own destiny. The Storm play the other three contenders in the next week beginning with tomorrow’s doubleheader at home against Wartburg. Simpson coach Henry Christowski says every game is big the rest of the way. He says the three teams below the top four are going to have a big impact on how the championship shakes out. Christowski says a four-team race for the title is what everyone expected. He says the conference seems to get better and better. Christowski says the stretch run is critical because there are a limited number of spaces in the national tournament. He thinks they’ll only get two from the conference, with the only guarantee of one spot for the automatic qualifier.
