An in-state college baseball battle in Waterloo tonight finds Northern Iowa hosting Iowa. Panther coach Rick Heller says while both teams are focused on their conference race, the rivalry aspect still remains. He says the games don’t usually feature the top pitchers, as they’re saved for conference play, but he says it’s still fun. Heller says there is more emotion to a game like this than a typical non-conference game. He says it’s good for baseball in the state. It’s the only matchup of Division One baseball schools in the state as Iowa State University dropped their program last year.
