Winners of seven of their last eight games, the Iowa Hawkeyes look to continue their surge with the start of a four-game Big Ten baseball series at home against Northwestern. After a 3-9 league start, the Hawks have put themselves into the hunt for a spot in the conference post season tournament. Iowa coach Scott Broghamer who says the Hawkeyes have been getting timely hitting, and that needs to continue for them to continue doing well. The teams will play a single game this evening.Northern Iowa needs a strong finish if the Panthers hope to defend their Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament crown. U-N-I opens a four-game Valley series at home tonight against Evansville and coach Rick Heller feels his team is playing better.Heller says with eight conference games remaining, the Panthers have little room for error.
