Regional run begins in Pella for Iowa Conference

Three Iowa conference teams take part in an N-C-A-A division-three softball regional in Pella beginning tomorrow. Central finished the regular season 35-3 and the Dutch won their final 14-games enroute to the Conference title.Central coach George Wares believes this will be one of the toughest regionals in the country.Wartburg is the fourth-seed and coach Randy Schneider says a difficult conference schedule has them ready for the post-season.Wartburg opens against Marian College from Wisconsin.Coe College opens against St. Thomas of Minnesota.Coe coach Bob Timmons says avoiding the losers bracket early is always important.The tournament runs through Sunday.
