Sheriff Departments across Iowa are moving to increase the security of county courthouses under a mandate from the court system. In Marshall County, Sheriff Ted Kamatchus says they’re moving to have someone in the courtroom all the time.Kamatchus says the criminals will bear the cost of the upgraded security through the 30-dollar-a-day fee charged prisoners in the jail for housing.Kamatchus says they’ll also bring in two scanning devices from Polk County to scan people entering the courtrooms when trials are in session.
