Former Iowa prep finding success in Midwest League

Former Algona Garrigan standout Brad Nelson has quickly adapted to life in professional baseball. Nelson has put up impressive numbers for the Beloit Snappers in the class-A Midwest League. He leads the league in home runs and runs batted in and says he feels comfortable at the plate right now.Nelson is batting two-97 so far and he is trying to keep his gaudy numbers in perspective. He says he does keep an eye on the stats, but doesn’t want to be a “stat rat.” He says the good numbers could help him move up.Nelson says he tries not to worry about if or when he will be called up to another level.Nelson was a fourth round selection of the Milwaukee Brewers last year.
