Democrat Governor Tom Vilsack isn’t ready to endorse the budget-cutting plan republicans unveiled this morning. Vilsack continues to press for taking 60-million dollars out of the state’s road construction fund and using that for education programs. Vilsack’s critical of the G-O-P idea of closing down the state program which provides computers to schools and community colleges. The Governor says that, coupled with cuts in training programs for students, makes the republican plan — in his words “particularly egregious.” Vilsack says republicans must consider roads a “protected species” while school kids and prison guards are “endangered” by the budget cuts.
