May 27, 2002 By admin

The high school track season is over now in Iowa, but the accomplishments of the athletes will live on forever in the new Hall of Pride. Jack Lashier of the Iowa High School Athletic Association says track athletes will have their own area once the Hall opens. He says there’ll be trivia questions, interviews with outstanding participants through the years. As with other sports, Lashier says the track portion will have lots of interactive exhibits. You’ll be able to lift a shot put, or see a wall of state records to see how far and how long they are. Lashier has been traveling the state collecting information for the Hall of Pride. He says he’ll be done visiting all the schools on June 3rd. The Hall of Pride will be located in the new Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, which is scheduled to open in 2004.
