Central Iowans who are searching for meaning in their lives might find it at a lecture Friday night in Des Moines. Doctor Laurel Clark, an author, minister and teacher is presenting a talk called “The Fountain of Youth.” Clark says some people will do anything to avoid getting old, using extreme medical measures to keep their bodies alive, but it’s still no guarantee they’ll have a good quality existence.Clark says people who are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives often blame others for their unhappiness. She says we have the power to make ourselves happy, and she uses one woman who hated her job as an example.Clark is a faculty member of the College of Metaphysics in Windyville, Missouri. Her free talk is at 7 P-M Friday at Borders Books in West Des Moines.
