June 8, 2002 By admin

The Clinton Area Showboat Theatre opened its season this week on the Mississippi River in Clinton. Artistic director Jay Berkow is back for his fifth season at the theatre. Berkow was working in New York City at the time of the terrorist attacks. He says there were concerns that attendance at live theatres would be hurt by the attacks, but it’s been the opposite. One of the actresses performing at the theatre has close ties to the New York area. Catherine Ogden lives in Connecticut. She says it’s the closest commuting town to New York City, and they’ve seen a lot of the loss. The Clinton season will run through August 18th.
