Fur Takers Convention visits Manchester

June 15, 2002 By admin

The annual “Fur Takers of America” national convention is back in Iowa for the first time since 1991. The event runs through Sunday at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester. F-T-A boardmember Dave Plueger of Monticello is one of the co-chairs of the convention. Plueger says they expect a record turnout. He says they could see four to six thousand people come through the gate from all over the country. Plueger says they have events for everyone, including candle-making sessions and skillet tossing, along with a trap-setting contest. Admission to the event is five dollars and it runs through Sunday.
