A Davenport man who police say has a house full of guns has paid a 100 dollar fine for shooting his puppy to death in his back yard.41-year-old Scott Anthony Allen was charged with mistreatment of animals andfiring a gun inside city limits after neighbors reported hearing shots fired. Police say Allen admitted shooting his 6-month-old Elkhound becauseit had urinated in the house and chewed up some paperwork. Police say they found about 20 guns — including an AK-47 assault rifle — in a search of Allen’s house. They say they took the weapons for safekeeping, but they appear to be legal.
